Please view in pdf or ppt the poster presented at the American Meteorological Society, January, 2004.
The primary focus of SEA-BASINS to date has been the Mekong River Basin.
The key set of interdependent issues include:
Climate forcing on water availability and seasonality
Conversion and support of land for agriculture and other landuses
Water in channels for
Flood detection and control
Availability for navigation, irrigation, timber floating
Dams and withdrawal of water for irrigation
Fisheries (floodplain habitat change)
Water quality, salinization and sediment transport
